Thank you! I look forward to watching both of these videos while I am on my spin cycle today spinning out the crazies (i.e., the disbelief that we are back here again). Like you, I don’t believe this will be a repeat of Trump’s first term. He’s had 4 years to disseminate false information and surround himself with rabid and incompetent people. This could be far more dangerous. In response to people like RFK Jr, I’ve heard people say, “well, if he can clean up our food supply, I’m all for it.” NO!! First, his idea of cleaning up the food supply isn’t based on empirical data, it’s based on crazy schemes that have made him wealthy. And second, he has absolutely no qualifications that would make him an appropriate choice for anything in public health. Even if some of T’s picks are physicians, that doesn’t make them qualified for those posts. A parallel I use is that, if I needed bypass surgery to remedy CAD, I probably wouldn’t ask my OB/GYN to do it. Thanks for taking time out of your vacation to write to all of us! It’s a ray of sunshine on a difficult day. For the record…I have a few cats who believe they are channeling MB-3. (We won’t disillusion them.) What a stunning creature!
You should maybe stick to addressing science and health misinformation...you're really good at that... and not address politics. There was clearly enough science and health misinformation coming out of the Biden administration to prevent anyone concerned from standing on any kind of moral high ground. You risk your credibility with who knows how many of your readers by implying that Fauci & company were distributing evidenced-based science/health recommendations to the general public. So much for our respected national institutions.
Thank you so much for all the work you do keeping us informed with evidence-based science! It's so discouraging to see all these unqualified nominees trump wants to put in charge of health, but very encouraging to have science communicators like you fighting to defend truth. I think the work you are doing, including your posts and those very informative videos you did for Wired, are making a big difference!
First of all, Dr. Love, just because I have a somewhat differing opinion does not make me in any way confused or in need of being educated by your link, which I read when it was first published, as I try to do with all your posts.
And I do agree that RFK, Jr. is a nutjob. His ideas about "organic" foods and GMOs have no basis in fact. And a lot of other stuff he says is just nonsense. But even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in awhile. From my perspective, looking at what other developed countries do in terms of vaccine scheduling makes some sense. I'm on board with not giving a covid vaccine to healthy young people. Getting ultra processed foods off my grandchildren's school lunch plates is certainly a good idea. Even his idea about recovery farms for addicts would probably be at least as effective as conventional treatment centers.
But he's only going to be in office for four years, or until he pisses Trump off. It will keep you busy, and that's a good thing for me and all your readers!
I hope you can relax a little. Democracy isn't over. He's already been president once and we're still here. I'm almost 70 and less-than-ideal government has been with us all that time. Like many other things, it's two steps forward, one step back. We're making slow progress!
Lastly: you can't be serious in saying that ultra rich Republicans control the legacy media!🤣🤣🤣

Science is political when people with ulterior motives manipulate it for policy. They are intertwined.
