I’m so sorry for your loss. Your strength and clarity in the face of such a personal tragedy is deeply moving. You continue to speak with extraordinary scientific rigor and moral clarity and it’s a service to all of us, especially now when disinformation is not just tolerated but elevated.
Your work stands in stark contrast to figures like Casey Means, whose promotion to Surgeon General would be a triumph of branding over science. While you provide facts, context, and ethical nuance, she packages wellness marketing as medicine. We need more voices like yours in public discourse, not more pseudoscientific influencers elevated to positions of authority.
Thank you for all that you do, especially in the hardest moments.
I wish to add my condolences on your loss. Please take care of yourself, just as you took such good care of your stepfather. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do in the fight for science and rationality, especially in these insane times.
Sorry for your loss. May his memory always be a blessing. Well done on the placebo piece. We should ask RFKJr to cite the placebo controlled trials for vitamin A to treat measles and other quack treatments he has for additional maladies. And now some states are making it illegal to administer mRNA based vaccines/treatments. Good grief.....
I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm sure your stepfather was very proud of you and the critically important work that you are doing. I read your Substack everyday. It gives me hope and ammunition to fight the opportunists out there taking advantage of people and creating a dangerous environment with regard to health. Your work is appreciated and I share your commentary whenever I get the chance. I know several people who have gone straight down the wellness rabbit hole out of desperation for possible solutions to their health issues... It's maddening! Thank you and I wish you strength through this hard period you're going though.
First, my condolences on the loss of your stepdad, Bill. I don't know how you can do all the things you do under typical circumstances, let alone adding on the death of a loved one. Take it one step at a time and one task at a time.
As for today's post, it's spot-on, as is your custom. I like that you call out RFK's comments for exactly what they are: lies. And they're driving health policy. And that should scare everyone, but it doesn't. It motivates people who want their personal health philosophies to drive health policy. The thing is, health doesn't happen because of philosophy, it happens because of facts.
Now RFK wants research done that "gets to the bottom" of the vaccine-autism relationship. As you know, in the research world, this is just confirmation bias, pure and simple. The "bottom" was already reached, and revealed there was not only no connection, but the original study included false data. He can't handle that, and if he can't, he is wrong for the job he has, full stop. Shame on this administration -- and all those who voted to confirm him for the job.
Praises unlimited for you, however. Go at whatever pace you can comfortably handle. Those of us who value the work and the writing you do will be patient.
Sorry for your loss. RIP Bill . Thanks for adding a personal note . As for RFK Jr - well - he is wrong on so many claims . Thanks for taking the time to tediously work through some of them.
As a former oncology clinical research nurse, thank you for your column about RFK Jr. and his vaccine lies, ignorance, and utter hypocrisy. It's still amazing to me that someone with no clinical or scientific knowledge or background at all could be nominated and then confirmed for his position. In your column the rationale behind clinical trial procedures was so clearly explained I bet even RFK Jr. could understand it! I'm eagerly awaiting more of your work on Substack. Thank you.
I am so sad to learn of the loss of your stepfather. It sounds like you have given him amazing and loving care. In the midst of this, I’m grateful that you have felt able to continue sharing your knowledge with your readers.
Now, as for Kennedy, let’s see if I understand this: what he is proposing would require rewinding the clock and starting all over again, only in a dangerous and uninformed way. What could possibly go wrong?😡
And, as if this isn’t bad enough, his suggestion for Surgeon General is Casey Means, who isn’t actually a physician. Is there no end to dumbing down our government and compromising our safety?
